Since joining SwimMAC in September 2015, Martha dedicated herself to building strong swim school communities at our North and South locations. Starting as an instructor, she quickly expanded my role to serve as Deck Manager, North Manager, and instructor for various programs, including Teen Fit and Dolphin 3. Today,Martha oversees two swim schools, ensuring our programs provide every swimmer with a safe, supportive environment to learn this essential life skill. She believes in clear communication, a welcoming approach, and the importance of organized and transparent leadership.
Martha’s background includes a wide range of relevant experience: lifeguarding at pools, lakes, and water parks; teaching at preschools; and serving in leadership roles such asVice President of the PTO and a member of the MOPS leadership team. Additionally, she is a certified lifeguard and Chemical Pool Operator (CPO), which allows her to maintain the highest safety standards for our facilities.
SwimMAC is deeply meaningful to Martha—it's not only a powerhouse in competitive swimming but a community that brings people together with a shared passion. Martha’s goal is to foster this spirit, bridging communication among staff and expanding our outreach to ensure more families can access swim lessons, regardless of financial background. One project she is particularly excited about is creating a new warm pool for our Latin community, which will allow us to grow SwimMAC’s outreach and make swim education even more accessible.
For Martha, swimming is more than a sport; it’s a basic life skill that everyone should have the chance to learn. Her dedication to swim education is shaped by the people who inspire me: survivors who rise from challenging situations and mentors like Kathy McKee, who instilled in her the values of resilience and leadership. These influences, combined with her passion for teaching, drive her commitment to SwimMAC. Whether you’re new to swimming or just getting to know SwimMAC, Martha looks forward to supporting you in every stroke of your journey.
