Jena Wise

North Shark 3 Assistant, Senior 3 Assistant

Jena Wise joined SwimMAC in March 2025and serves as both the Shark 3 and Senior 3 Assistant Coach at the North(HFFA/Davidson) site. In her role, she supports the development of 13-14year-old and 15&over swimmers, focusing on stroke technique, efficiency,and building the skills needed to transition into higher levels of competitiveswimming. She coaches at daily practices and swims meets, including both pooltraining and dryland work, creating a positive and engaging environment for herathletes!

Jena brings a strong background inboth education and swim coaching. She holds a degree in Secondary EnglishEducation from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, where she alsocompeted as a collegiate swimmer. Prior to SwimMAC, she spent three years as ahigh school English teacher and one year as a high school swim coach,developing strengths in communication, organization, and athlete development.

Driven by honesty, consistency, andrespect, Jena is passionate about helping swimmers grow in theirconfidence, skill, and love for the sport. She is most inspired by her mother,who immigrated to the United States from South Africa with Jena’s fatherto create greater opportunities for their family. Growing up as afirst-generation American, Jena learned firsthand that hard worktruly pays off. Her mother instilled in her a deep sense of grit - the abilityto fight for what you want and never give up until every resource has beenexhausted. Jena brings that same energy, resilience, and dedicationto the pool deck every day, ensuring her athletes are supported, challenged,and empowered to reach their full potential.
